Where to begin? How 'bout with some pictures?

An air compressor pumps air into the gun, building up pressure. This seemed to be good for usually about 2 or 3 shots. On the trigger end (shown facing downward here) there is a metal toggle 'safety' switch which has to be set to 'on' for firing ... and a RED BUTTON fires the potato.

Shown below is the target. There seemed to be a couple of people up there. One was on the brown "dunking tank" and he was dunked at least 3 times by various people. Note the caution tape. Safety is paramount here.

A potato is smacked into the end of the muzzle by hand...

And then it gets plunged down by a wooden dowel. Kind of reminds me of those Civil War movies where they are firing cannon.
